We are extremely proud to introduce you to this year’s Generous Home, featuring The Collins home plan! This home is located within the Golden Ponds neighborhood in Waunakee and will be featured in the 2024 Madison Area Parade of Homes, happening June 14-23, 2024!
The best part about this home? As it’s a “Generous Home,” 100% of the proceeds from its sale will be donated to non-profits, this is something we take a lot of pride in. If you recall, we did our first Generous Home in 2021, with which we ended up donating $1.2 million to non-profits. We will be announcing the 2024 non-profit recipients soon – please stay tuned!
This home takes a village. That’s not an overstatement. Many of our trade partners have donated goods and services to offset the costs of this home, so that as much money as possible will go to non-profits. While we are still solidifying our trade partner contributions, we do want to give a big shout out to those that have already committed to donating 100% of their goods and services to the cause, including: Advanced Fastening Supply, Birrenkott Surveying, City Wide Insulation, Dave Jones, Fireside Hearth & Home, General Engineering Company, GFL Environmental, Helwig Roofing, LRS, Madison Lighting, Spahn Excavating, The Concrete Remover, Weed Man, Yahara Materials, Zander Solutions.
I know what you’re wondering…. But what does it LOOK like?!?! While we can’t give every detail away just yet, after all, you have to come see it for yourself in the Parade… We can give you a little taste of what’s to come. Here you can see the siding going up.
Special thanks to Richard Dorr, the Personal Builder assigned to The Generous Home, for capturing drone footage, so that we can all follow along with the home’s progress.
We recently had the opportunity to talk with our Interior Designers to get the scoop on their vision. Here’s what Interior Designer, Lyndsay Johnson, had to say about the home:
At the onset of the initial planning stage of the 2024 Generous Home, the overwhelming sense was that we wanted it to feel different than the previous Generous Home. We knew we needed to introduce some fresh, new ideas, incorporated with our most popular selections. We also knew we wanted to keep the overall design transitional, while adding dramatic features for a wow effect. Our design concepts had to reflect the impressive overall architecture of the home and play into it, without overshadowing.
We set out to create a careful mixture of the traditional designs that have stood the test of time and modern pieces that would give it an updated look. Throughout the home we combine elements that have a classic feel, but in a new variation or with an added twist of modernization. In addition to that, we experimented a lot with patterns—herringbone floors and vertical wall tile, shapes—geometric lights and arched insets, and colors—warm tones and greys within the same palette. In short, we wanted to create a blurred line for what elements and styles can be combines—we decided there is no defining rule for that.
It’s looking absolutely stunning. Stay tuned here on the blog and on our website, as we’ll continue to bring you updates from our Design and Construction teams.
