Art and design have been part of my life long before I even knew what they were. Growing up, my mom went all out for the holidays. My sister and I would race home, excited to see what new decorations had magically appeared on the mantel. We had bins upon bins of decorations stored in our basement, stacked to the ceiling—and yes, she still has them! My mom was also an art and music teacher, so our house was always overflowing with supplies, just waiting for us to get creative. Coming from such a creative household, it’s no wonder I ended up in the arts myself.
I first fell in love with design working on my school’s yearbook. That passion led me to college, where I knew I wanted to focus on publication design. I eventually graduated with a degree in Advertising, on the Creative track. Since then, I’ve had a handful of roles as a professional graphic designer — including agency life, publishing, and freelancing. Now, I’m lucky enough to share my love of design at Veridian Homes.
On the personal side, I’ve got two kids, three cats, and a wonderful husband who works too hard. I’m a health nut, a runner, a bird nerd, and a public art enthusiast. Supporting local businesses is important to me, so I spend my weekends at farmers’ markets, hunting down fresh finds.
As cheesy as it sounds, I really do believe that “home is where the heart is,” and that your space should reflect who you are. My decor style? I call it “simple-modern”—think clean lines, muted colors, and natural textures. Through this blog, I’m excited to share some of these ideas with you and will do my best to source inspiration from local gems whenever I can.
