Wisconsin’s leading homebuilder, Veridian Homes, has recently appointed Chris Ehlers as President of the company. Ehlers first joined Veridian Homes in 2018, as the Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development. In 2021, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer.
“I am very grateful to be awarded this opportunity,” said Ehlers. “To be able to play a part in developing neighborhoods in the area where I was raised, along with guiding an industry leader, is an absolute honor.”
Ehlers has over 20 years of experience in residential homebuilding and development operations. He previously developed the two largest master plan communities in the country during his time at Pulte Homes. Over the span of his career, he has entitled and developed more than 10,000 single-family homesites. Ehlers was named “Builder/Developer of the Year” in 2017 by the Madison Area Builders Association (MABA); and later in 2018, he became President of MABA.
With a career spanning over two decades, Ehlers has collaborated closely with both national and local builders, affording him a deep understanding of the industry. His contributions have been key in establishing vibrant communities not only within Dane County but also in areas beyond.
David Simon, founder, principal owner, and outgoing President of Veridian Homes, will continue to support the business through his new position as Chairman of the Board at Forgewell Building Group. Forgewell is a collection of award-winning builders, developers, trades, and craftsmen, that work together to create exceptional commercial and residential real estate. The building group was formed on January 1, 2023. Forgewell currently includes Veridian Homes, Dave Jones, Steg Plumbing, and Marshall Towne Millwork.
“Chris’s dedication to our team and our unwavering commitment to putting our customers first have been instrumental in Veridian Homes’ success,” said Simon. “I have no doubt that under his guidance, the company will continue to thrive and prosper.”
